My name is Bridget and I'm a writer and podcast maker based in the North East of England. I'm originally from a small town just outside of London, but recently celebrated my 10th year of living in Newcastle upon Tyne, and my accent's coming along nicely!
Following my degree in English Literature I earned a Distinction in MA Radio Production and Management at the University of Sunderland. My career to date has primarily been focused on digital communications, which has included lots of radio, but also marketing and fundraising for big North East brands such as the Sage in Gateshead. I have created content, both written and audio, for Metro, The Independent, Huffington Post, Mslexia, BBC Newcastle and BBC Radio Three.
In January 2020, I decided to go fully self-employed to focus on my writing and audio production, slowly building up a roster of freelance clients in spite of the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. I particularly enjoy working with young people and spend three days a week as a Creative Producer for New Writing North's Young Writers' City programme, which delivers in-classroom and extra curricular creative writing sessions for pupils at inner city schools in the North East. The rest of the time you can find me working on podcast commissions, running workshops or creating my own work.
