About Me

My name is Bridget and I'm a writer and creative practitioner based in the North East of England. I'm originally from a small industrial town just outside of London, but recently celebrated my 15th year of living in Tyne and Wear, and my accent's coming along nicely!

I have a BA Hons in English Literature from Newcastle University and an MA in Radio Production and Management (now called Radio, Audio and Podcasting) from the University of Sunderland. After working for about five years in the creative and cultural sector as an employee, I took the plunge and went self employed. I now divide my time between long-term contracts with organisations like New Writing North, one-off commissions / project delivery and creating my own work. I work most often with young people, but have plenty of experiences with adults, including those in the criminal justice system.

In December 2023, I signed with literary agent Lucy Irvine at Darley Anderson Children's Agency and in July 2026 I released my debut novel! It's a YA verse novel all about grief, joy and teenage firsts, set on the gorgeous North East coast. You can read all about it on this page.
